I am professionally trained in acting, singing, music and movement.

I received a BA Hons Degree in Music from the University of York. Studying flute, piano and voice during my time, I honed my musicianship and developed a particular skill for sight singing and harmonisation.

I then went on to study Musical Theatre Performance at the prestigious London Drama School, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Throughout the rigorous professional professional programme, I trained in classical and contemporary acting, voice and phonetics, improvisation, acting through song, vocal techniques (specifically the world renowned Estill Vocal Method), movement, acting for screen, and dance (jazz, ballet and tap).

Now working as a full-time voice-over artist and professional actor (stage and screen), I am currently represented by Origin Talent.

Acting

My recent acting roles include playing Pierce in “It’s Not Like We Planned It” at the Hen & Chickens Theatre in Camden and the Snow Queen in an immersive production of “The Frost Kingdom” with the Walking Theatre Company at Ormesby Hall. I recently appeared the Christmas Advert for Babul’s, an award winning Indian restaurant in the North East, as well as acting in pivotal diversity training videos for Durham Constabulary.

“Through her masterclass in expression, she developed layers that made an audience understand her narrative, about her worry of their future and not her own self-ambition. Ellen’s voice was expressive throughout and soared in the theatre.”

review of the role of Nicola (Kinky Boots)

Musical Theatre

I have played a diverse range of musical theatre roles, showcasing my versatility of casting type from leading lady to ensemble member. Previous roles include Rita O’Grady (Made in Dagenham), Miss Hedge (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Nicola (Kinky Boots), Princess Fiona (Shrek: The Musical), Matron Mama Morton (Chicago) and Magdalena (Bernada Alba).

“Ellen brought warmth, humour, and conviction to the role, showing both vulnerability and strength as her character grew from a factory worker to a confident spokesperson for women’s rights. Her vocal delivery was particularly commendable during the powerful solos, especially in numbers like “Everybody Out” and “Stand Up,” which were both emotional high points of the night.”
